Support the Human Resources Department in ensuring smooth and efficient human resources operations for all employees within the Head Start/Early Head Start program. This role involves both administrative and strategic responsibilities, helping to plan and administer important functions such as staffing, training and development, and compensation and benefits. The ideal candidate will serve as a critical link between management and employees, fostering a positive and productive work environment while ensuring legal compliance.
POSITION SUMMARY: Supervise staff associated with classroom operations and services for enrolled children and their families at a Head Start program site with four preschool classrooms, facilitating the implementation of all activities in accordance with federal performance standards and NYS Office of Children and Family Services regulations.
Working in conjunction with a lead teacher and a teacher assistant, provide a safe and engaging learning environment for all 4-year-old children in assigned classroom, and ensure that they are supervised at all times.
Work in conjunction with site staff and Health Coordinator and Assistant Health Coordinator toward the goal of optimum health for young children enrolled at assigned preschool classroom sites. Help link families of enrolled children into an ongoing health/mental health care source and encourage them to assume responsibility for their own care.
Works with enrolled families of infants or toddlers or preschoolers during weekly home visits, to develop goals based on identified needs, and to provide child development services, counseling, information and training, referrals, and crisis intervention and emergency assistance.
Assist the lead teacher in promoting the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of 4-year-old children in assigned Head Start classroom. Provide and maintain a safe environment for children and ensure that they are appropriately supervised and cared for at all times.
Head Start EPK Teachers provide and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment for 3-year-old children in a classroom setting, to advance their physical, social, emotional and intellectual competence through activities, learning and other programming. Teachers collaborate with families/guardians and other key stakeholders to the ensure the success of enrolled children, working with and leading a Teacher Assistant and Teacher Aide and classroom volunteers.
Promote the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of up to eight children under 3 years of age, with the assistance of a co-teacher and an aide. Provide and maintain a safe environment for assigned children, and ensure that they are appropriately supervised and cared for at all times.
