Perform various administrative, clerical, and front desk tasks within a department office.
Promote the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of up to 17 three- and four-year-old children enrolled in a Head Start classroom, leading a team including a teacher assistant and a teacher aide. Provide and maintain a safe environment for the children and ensure that they are appropriately supervised at all times.
Assist the lead teacher in promoting the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of preschool children in assigned Head Start classroom. Provide and maintain a safe environment for children and ensure that they are appropriately supervised and cared for at all times.
UPK Teachers provide and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment for 4-year-old children in a classroom setting, to advance their physical, social, emotional and intellectual competence through activities, learning and other programming. Teachers collaborate with families/guardians and other key stakeholders to the ensure the success of enrolled children, working with and leading a Teacher Assistant and Teacher Aide and classroom volunteers.
Works with enrolled families of infants or toddlers or preschoolers during weekly home visits, to develop goals based on identified needs, and to provide child development services, counseling, information and training, referrals, and crisis intervention and emergency assistance.

The Family Worker provides family development services to Head Start participants through identification of family needs and provision of crisis intervention, emergency assistance, counseling, information and referral services. Working closely with parents/guardians, classroom staff, and other stakeholders, the family worker prepares Family Partnership Agreements that provide for appropriate action plans to improve quality of family life.
Assist the Nutrition Coordinator of the Head Start / Early Head Start program, in the planning and administration of quality food service operations, food and nutrition education, and nutritional health follow-up for children ages birth to five, pregnant women, and their families, in accordance with federal performance standards.
Provide health services to pregnant mothers enrolled in Early Head Start Home Based Program. This includes providing education in breastfeeding, prenatal and postnatal care, and infant care including the newborn assessment, and making referrals as needed.
Promote the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of up to eight children between 18 months and 3 years of age, with the assistance of a co-teacher and an aide. Provide and maintain a safe environment for assigned children, and ensure that they are appropriately supervised and cared for at all times.
