Program Assistant for Big Brothers Big SIsters

QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or equivalent, plus four years of formal education and/or work experience in human services or youth programming or a related field. Demonstrated expertise with office equipment, phone systems, and data entry software.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Track the waiting list status for each volunteer candidate and enrolled child, to include:
    • Prepare and mail packets and applications, as well as any necessary follow up.
  • Review returned volunteer applications.
  • Perform appropriate background checks on potential volunteers (including criminal background, motor vehicle and personal reference checks).
  • Forward completed applications to Mentor Managers for further processing
  • Provide all statistical information and reporting requirements to agency fiscal office, funding sources, and BBBS of America.
  • Participate and assist in the planning and coordination of special events.
  • Initiate purchase orders and cash disbursements as well as track all expenses to verify allowable grant expenditures.
  • Communicate with Advisory Council President to coordinate all regular Advisory Council meetings.
  • Assist the Program Director and Mentor Managers to maintain the filing system, and perform other office duties to include data processing, filing updates, and generating reports as needed.

Full-time, 52 weeks per year, starting between $19 to $20 per hour.
