POSITION: COOK
RESPONSIBLE TO: Production Manager
LOCATION: Food Services Division, 6756 Pickard Drive, Mattydale, NY 13211
STARTING PAY RANGE: $19.00 to $20.50 per hour
SCHEDULE: Full-time, weekdays 6:15am to 2:15pm, 52 weeks per year
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED desired.
- Demonstrated knowledge of cooking and food safety principles required.
- Experience in moderate-scale cooking helpful.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepare meals for distribution according to posted menus, and any alternate-diet meals required, using standardized recipes.
2. Assist in the planning and preparation of food for special occasions.
3. Assist in ordering, receiving and inspection of food deliveries for accuracy, completeness and quality.
4. Follow established procedures for proper food handling and storage, personal cleanliness and sanitation.
5. Operate and maintain kitchen equipment in a safe and sanitary manner. Report equipment problems to the Production Manager.
6. Follow established schedule for cleaning and sanitizing food preparation areas and all cooking and serving utensils.
7. Give direction to other food service staff as needed to meet the goals for production.
8. Complete required paperwork as needed.
9. Assist in planning and development of menus.
