QUALIFICATIONS:  High school diploma or equivalent, plus either an Associate's degree in a field related to food service management OR four years of food service management experience. Experience should demonstrate excellent food service practice skills and a good working knowledge of appropriate procedures. Strong working knowledge of NYS and County Health Codes and guidelines. Valid driver license. ServSafe Manager Certification preferred.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Oversee management of Food Services in the absence of the Food Services Director.

2. Supervise and direct the food service activities at approximately 30 meal sites to ensure that sanitary food handling and transportation procedures are followed. Supervise a program assistant and a clerical assistant.

3. Act as a liaison between meal sites and Food Services to ensure quality and address complaints.

4. Recruit, train, and follow up with volunteers working at meal sites.

5. Address any quality and compliance issues with the Food Service Director.

6. Frequently communicate with meal site managers including site visits, ongoing coaching, updates in procedures or policy, conducting inspections, and receiving input from site managers and acting upon their recommendations.

7. Compile monthly reports and quarterly reports for the Office of Aging, and other reports or records as required by the Director.

8. Assist staff occasionally with food services duties, for staff development or to fill in as needed.
