In conjunction with the Site Supervisor at a Head Start / Early Head Start classroom building, monitor and train child development staff to assess their skills, increase their competency, and ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and with NYS Office of Children and Family Services requirements. Perform direct supervision duties in the absence of the site supervisor.

The Nutrition Aide helps serve meals and snacks to children in each Head Start/Early Head Start classrooms. This position works closely with other prep kitchen staff to ensure proper handling of food, maintaining cleanliness of kitchen area, and tracking inventory, and works in collaboration with nurses to ensure that proper dietary needs are followed.
Provide health services to pregnant mothers enrolled in Early Head Start Home Based Program, attending home visits and socialization activities with Home Visitors.
The Home Visitor works with enrolled parents at the Jamesville Correctional facility to develop goals around child, family and community development and health/nutrition based on the identified needs of the children and families. Working with pregnant and post-partum women and men who are incarcerated, the Home Vistor provides crisis intervention, emergency assistance, counseling, information, training and referral services.
Promote the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of up to eight children between 18 months and 3 years of age, with the assistance of a co-teacher and an aide. Provide and maintain a safe environment for assigned children, and ensure that they are appropriately supervised and cared for at all times.
Working in conjunction with two co-teachers, provide a safe and engaging learning environment in a classroom with up to 8 children ages 2 to 3, ensuring that they are well supervised and cared for while in our care.
The Had Start UPK Teacher will promote the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of children. Provide and maintain a safe environment for children and ensure that children are appropriately supervised at all times.
The Family Worker provides family development services to Head Start participants through identification of family needs and provision of crisis intervention, emergency assistance, counseling, information and referral services. Working closely with parents/guardians, classroom staff, and other stakeholders, the family worker prepares Family Partnership Agreements that provide for appropriate action plans to improve quality of family life.

Provide logistical and clerical support to the Big Bothers Big Sisters program.
The Head Start Floating Center Aide assists a variety of classrooms with children under age 5 as assigned by the site supervisor, by helping classroom staff provide a safe and supportive atmosphere that supports individual growth and development.
Prepare meals at a moderate-scale production kitchen for distribution across multiple locations, following posted menus and alternate diet requirements.
Connect with identified men and women, including pregnant or post-partum women, who are incarcerated at the Onondaga Correctional Facility in Jamesville, along with their infant or toddler children, on a scheduled bi-weekly basis of home and facility visits. Work with enrolled parents at the Jamesville facility to plan and develop age-appropriate early childhood education activity plans based on each child’s assessment and identified family needs.
Perform receptionist and data entry duties at the front desk in the lobby area of a large Head Start / Early Head Start classroom building.
