Site Supervisor, Liverpool Head Start

SCHEDULE:  Full-time, 48 weeks per year (4-week temporary unpaid layoff each summer with eligibility for unemployment benefits for 3 weeks), paid leave includes all school district holidays and breaks during the school year plus additional accumulated paid leave.

LOCATION:  911 Old Liverpool Road, Liverpool, NY

REPORTS TO:  Head Start Program Operations Manager

STARTING PAY RANGE:  $22.00 to $28.00 per hour depending on experience and education

QUALIFICATIONS: One year of experience teaching pre-school age children in a large group setting. One year of supervisory experience. A completed four-year college degree in Early Childhood Education or in a related field with at least 24 credits in Early Childhood Education; or equivalent combination of experience and education with at least a relevant two-year degree.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Coordinate and facilitate the daily operations of site, and monitor all classroom transitions.
  2. Provide training and technical assistance to assigned classroom staff for the purpose of increasing their competency: Make classroom observations on a regular basis and hold individual classroom team conferences, review weekly classroom plans and attend classroom planning sessions, identify training needs of the education staff and maintain necessary records to document their growth and development, and review education folders of enrolled children twice annually.
  3. Provide continuous communication to all site staff, including individual performance evaluations and monthly site meetings.
  4. Ensure that Maintenance Department work requests are received in a timely manner.
  5. Complete and submit all purchase requisitions for the site.
  6. Responsible for planning, implementing and documenting monthly fire drills for the site.
  7. Serve as a resource to all state licensing representatives and health or fire inspectors.
