Intake Worker (part-time), Head Start

LOCATION: 215 Bassett Street, Syracuse 13210

SCHEDULE: Part-time 20 to 25 hours/week, 52 weeks/year

STARTING PAY RANGE: $16.61-19.48 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree or equivalent formal education in social work, human services or related field, plus one year of experience in social work, human services or a community family services organization. Experience working with low-income families and knowledge of agencies and services available to address the needs of families in Onondaga County highly desirable. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recruit families into the Head Start/Early Head Start program.
  • Discuss program options and eligibility criteria and enrollment process with potential clients.
  • Complete intakes, health and dental histories, and nutritional assessments to prepare young children and their families
    for entrance into the program, ensuring compliance with federal guidelines.
  • Provide monthly attendance analysis to site supervisor and attend placement meetings.
  • Obtain and verify documentation provided by families as required by HS/EHS regulations.
  • Maintain data and statistics in database. Submit monthly statistics report.
  • Work in conjunction with Early Head Start staff to ensure seamless transition of families from Early Head
    Start to Head Start.

CLEARANCE/CREDENTIALING: All mandatory pre-employment screenings required by the program's regulatory and funding bodies.
