Head Start UPK Teacher Aide - 1507 James Street, Syracuse

QUALIFICATIONS:  High school diploma/GED and experience working with children under age 5. Must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Willing to enroll in our Child Development Associate (CDA) credential program within six months of hire.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assist the assigned classroom team in implementing a child-centered, quality early childhood program.
  • Assist in providing a safe, warm and supportive classroom atmosphere that supports each child's individual growth and development.
  • Support the contribution of parent involvement and to assist in the implementation of this in all aspects of the educational program.
  • Support and assist center staff as assigned.
  • Assist in completing observations of children and some data entry tasks.
  • Serve as a bus monitor/rider as assigned.

CLEARANCE/CREDENTIALING: All mandatory pre-employment screenings required by the program's regulatory and funding bodies.

Pay Rate: $16.00/hour
