QUALIFICATIONS:  High school diploma or GED. Experience working with children under age 5 in a group setting. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Willingness to enroll in our Child Development Associate (CDA) credential program within six months of hire.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Assist the staff in various preschool classrooms, as directed by the site supervisor.
• Assist in providing a safe, warm and supportive classroom atmosphere that supports each child's individual growth and development.
• Assist with the serving of breakfast and lunch and snack daily to children in classrooms.
• Assist with completing observations of children and some data entry tasks.
• Assist with classroom cleaning duties as needed.
• Serve as a school bus monitor/rider as needed.

SCHEDULE: 37.5 hours per week, 44 weeks per year.  8-week temporary unpaid layoff each summer with eligibility for unemployment benefits.  Paid leave includes all holidays and breaks observed by school district during the school year, plus additional accumulated paid leave.

PAY RATE: $16.38/hour

LOCATION:  1125 West Genesee Street, Syracuse
