Early Head Start Teacher

QUALIFICATIONS: Infant & Toddler Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or a completed college degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.Minimum one (1) year of specific training and/or experience in infant or toddler care required. Basic computer skills and ability to occasionally life and/or move up to 50 pounds.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that all children assigned to class are supervised at all times. Perform regular counts of children assigned to ensure that all children are accounted for.
  • Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, learning environment.
  • Advance physical and intellectual competence to promote higher level thinking skills.
  • Support social and emotional development through attachment, initiative and self regulation and provide positive guidance.
  • Establish positive and productive relationships with families.
  • Ensure a well-run, purposeful program, responsive to participant needs.
  • Collaborate with other staff as appropriate and be responsible for planning, record keeping and observations and individualizations.
  • Participate in workshops and training sessions to further knowledge and experiences in the Early Head Start Performance Standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all child records and all other matters relating to families.
  • Assist with the delivery of nutrition services to children as assigned, including but not limited to
  • the following: storage of food and supplies, participate in family style dining, clean-up, sanitation, and nutritional educational activities.

CLEARANCE/CREDENTIALING: All mandatory pre-employment screenings required by the program's regulatory and funding bodies.

Starting Pary Rate :$21.00-$22.00/hour depending upon qualificationsb
